Analysis and interpret ABG values Case study 3

A 54 year old woman is receiving dialysis treatment for recent case of acute kidney injury secondary to urosepsis. Her last dialysis treatment was 4 days ago. Upon assessment, the nurse notices she is not as alert as she has been previously. She is oriented to person but not place or time.

Current vital signs: HR 98, BP 124/80, RR 12, Temp 37.2C. No c/o of pain.

An ABG is retrieved:

pH: 7.3

CO2: 36

HCO3: 18

pO2: 95
